The Victorian Government has gone ahead with the upgrade of Yan Yean road, ignoring local community requests to protect their green wedge.
Community consultations, held by the government clearly indicated community support support for option C.

Option C protects more significant, beautiful red gum trees, preserves a larger portion of the critically endangered swift parrot habitat and maintains access to local businesses.
The government has instead, ignored community feedback and ploughed ahead with option B.

Option B has greater impact on local biodiversity, the nearby green wedge and undermines the character of the neighbourhood.
The government needs to actually listen to what local communities are saying and not just move ahead with their plan A or B when plan C is what their constituents actually want.
