Community mental health services are critical.
In my region, there are several that don’t have funding locked in after June this year.
These include:
- The Box Hill Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub
- The Greensborough Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub
- The Rosanna Youth Outreach Recovery Support
The mental health hubs provide short term psychological support and interventions to people unable to access other forms of support.
And the Youth Outreach program supports young people with complex psychological needs including those who are unsuitable for residential care.
Despite being vital to the community their future is uncertain.
The government needs to commit to funding these essential services ASAP.
