Community Questions

Recently, a sinkhole opened up at one of the North East Link construction sites.

The Simpson Army Barracks site was once full of lush habitat for local wildlife including the critically endangered matted flax lily.

It was also home to the Studley Park gum and around 200 eastern grey kangaroos.

Now the area is a construction wasteland. The sinkhole is now 18m deep and emerged near huge tunnel boring machines.

The environmental damage caused by this construction needs to be fixed before harm comes to nearby homes, workers and the broader community.
