All public transport stations in Victoria should be accessible to all Victorians.

Ivanhoe station currently doesn’t have any tactile ground service indicators (the bumpy strips that overlay the yellow lines on stations).

These are essential to making train travel safe and accessible to those with visual impairment.

A change.org petition has been started to raise awareness and advocate for tactile service indicators at this station and others in Melbourne.

Ivanhoe station is a key connecting station on the Hurstbridge line and is the closest station for many who would benefit from more inclusive station design.

People shouldn’t be excluded from safety catching the train to work, university or anywhere else because of visual impairment.

I have called before for this issue to be fixed, and we are hearing more and more examples of peoples lives being impacted by this lack of Government action.

Lets get this done.

All public transport stations in Victoria should be accessible to all.
