Following Trump’s inauguration and first slew of executive orders many communities are feeling isolated, excluded and unsafe in their own country.
Trump, along with his most staunch supporters including JD Vance and Elon Musk, made divisive and misinformed comments about women, immigrants and other groups.

One of Trump’s first executive orders directly attacked trans folk. It said that the Trump administration will only acknowledge two genders: male and female, and that diversity and inclusion programs were ‘wasteful and radical’.

This is a huge step backwards for equality in the states.
Trump is scapegoating trans and gender diverse people and migrants as the root cause of the problems in the US.
He is weaponising fear to stop people from blaming him and his corporate pals for their social and economic problems.

Peter Dutton’s liberals are attempting to do the exact same thing here in Australia leading up to the federal election.
The LNP has spouted hateful rhetoric against migrants, campaigned on policies blocking refugees and consistently voted against policies protecting LGBTQIA+ rights and access to healthcare.
We can’t allow diverse communities to be painted as the enemy, when we know it is really big corporations and their political mates ripping us all off.
The Greens have continuously campaigned for the protection of diversity and to enable true equality.
Acknowledgement of all genders and access to genuinely free gender affirming care have always been a part of our goals.
Now more than ever, we need to support our trans and gender diverse community to create laws and protections that will lead to a more equal society.
@aivgoesgreen Trump’s inauguration speech vilified so many different communities, using fear to place the blame on trans folk and migrants for all of the problems in the US. We can’t let what’s happening over in the US to happen here. We need to keep fighting for equality and actively advocating for positive change.
