Fund Tenant Services!

Tenants Victoria never answers the phone. They are completely overrun by renters needing support against unlimited rent rises, unfair bond docking and neglected repairs. Services that advocate for renters, like Tenants Victoria, need greater funding and support for community consultation to ensure they are able to help renters.
Two Suburbs. Two Statues

Last week, I joined @sammyjcomedian on ABC Radio Melbourne to discuss the Eltham copper butterfly statue. Two suburbs, both alike in dignity. One promised a statue, the other gaining the statue promised to the other. There’s only one clear solution: two statues. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Aiv Puglielli MP 🏳️🌈 […]
Short stays can’t stay

Regulating short stay accommodation like Airbnb is a key step to addressing our country’s housing crisis. Airbnb’s ensure many of the houses in our state are empty, despite house prices soaring, unlimited rent increases and housing supply falling below demand. We need to unlock these houses so they can be lived in all year round. […]
Abolish Woolworth’s Warehouse “Framework”

Imagine working in a warehouse, wearing headsets directing you around, isolated from your co-workers, surrounded by dangerous machinery, and forced to rush unsafe tasks to meet a 100% target on your work performance at all times. Anything less than 100% is considered failure. Failure can result in public humiliation, disciplinary action and even termination. And […]

The Police […]
School Cleaners Deserve Respect

School cleaners are an essential part of school communities. They deserve secure and well paid employment. It’s what’s best for the kids. It’s what’s best for school employees. And it’s what’s best for our public schools. Queensland, Western Australia, the ACT and Tasmania already directly employ their school cleaners through the government, so why can’t […]
Too young for social media but not for prison

The Labor Government has decided to ban anyone under 16 from using social media. Despite having no idea how to regulate or enforce this ban, they’ve just gone ahead and announced the policy anyway, saying that social media platforms will have to work it out. The same platforms that are targeting teens and children with […]
