Why Nillumbik needs an
art museum:
Nillumbik Shire council holds an extensive art
collection of over 500 works by both
nationally and internationally acclaimed
artists.
Yet many of these pieces are never publicly
shown because of the lack of an art venue in
Nillumbik with modern climate controls,
lighting, or storage. Instead, these artworks are
stored offsite in commercial facilities, costing
the council thousands annually.
The local community has been campaigning
for a Nillumbik Art Museum for almost thirty
