We still don’t know how much the final tally of how much the North East Link Toll Road will cost.

It started out as a $6 billion project in 2008, before Premier Andrews upped the spend to $10 billion in 2016.

Soon after, the cost rose to $15.8 billion and now we’re at $26 billion and the project is still unfinished.

Aside from the monetary cost, our communities are also paying a toll of dust, damage, noise pollution, lost ecosystems and green spaces.

Has Labor ever heard of the sunk cost fallacy?

With each extension of the project’s timeline and budget the cost-benefit analysis becomes more and more outdated.

We need an updated report which assessing if this mammoth project is even worth it anymore.

We still don’t know how much the final tally of how much the North East Link Toll Road will cost.

So far, what started out as a $6 billion dollar project in 2008, has now cost our state $26 billion and is still unfinished.

I’m wondering if Labor’s ever heard of the sunk cost fallacy?
